Now that our season has drawn to a close, Tycroes RFC would like to announce that our Head Coach will be stepping down from his role. After many years leading the 1st team, he has made the difficult decision that now is the right time to step back. As a homegrown member of the village, it has been a tremendous honour for him to take on this responsibility, and the club is incredibly grateful for the commitment, passion, and leadership he has shown from the very beginning. During his time in charge, he has played a pivotal role in shaping a style of rugby that is both exciting to play and enjoyable to watch. The progress seen over recent seasons, reflected in performances and results, is a testament to his hard work and dedication. He leaves the team in a strong position, having also assembled a fantastic coaching group that will continue to build on the foundations he has put in place and drive standards even higher. Throughout his tenure, he has worked with and developed an outstanding group of players, many progressing to higher levels, while maintaining a strong core of Tycroes players at the heart of the side. We are also pleased to confirm that he will continue to play a key role within the club, taking up the position of Director of Rugby. In this role, he will support the development of our immensely talented youth setup, helping guide and transition players into senior rugby and strengthening the future of Tycroes RFC. The club would also like to acknowledge the appreciation he has shown to everyone involved — the players who have worn the jersey, the committee and backroom staff for their tireless work behind the scenes, and our loyal supporters who continue to back the team home and away. While stepping away from coaching duties, his commitment to Tycroes RFC remains as strong as ever. No doubt he’ll still be a familiar face around the club — and more than likely spotted at the bar enjoying a well-earned Madri. On behalf of everyone at Tycroes RFC, we thank him for his outstanding contribution and dedication, and we wish him all the very best in his new role.
